Lighthouses of Cape Cod

Monday, August 27th, 2007

My wife and I took a week long vacation to Cape Cod and I managed to get a few shots of some of the many lighthouses that can be found there.

D200, Sigma 17-70mm @50mm, F8 1/250th, ISO 100
Highland Light, also referred to as Cape Cod Light, located in Truro.

D200, Sigma 17-70mm @17mm, F7.1 1/200th, ISO 100
Nauset Light is probably the most photographed lighthouse on Cape Cod. It’s the one on the potato chip bags.

D200, Tokina 70-210mm @210mm, F8 1/250th, ISO 100
Long Point Light. This lighthouse is on the very tip of Cape Cod and cannot be reached easily. This shot was taken from a boat during our Whale watching trip.

Stay tuned for more pictures from this trip, once I get around to processing them.

Etsy poster challenge honorable mention

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

For anyone not selling on Etsy, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. Recently they had a contest where members chose items that looked good together and could be used on a printed poster. There were almost 1000 entries and only 60 winners were chosen. My photos were entered into 9 poster entries. None were winners, but I did get 1 honorable mention.

My “Up Through the Trees”shot was chosen 4 times.

And one of my NYC architecture shots was used twice.

You can see all the winners here:

New Printer

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Sorry for the lack up updates here. My schedule has just been insane leaving me no time to post here. Between working late, going to the gym, working on my Etsy shop and some side web design work I have have very little time for actual photography.

I also just bought a refurbished Epson R1800 and I have been playing with that in what little spare time I have these days. I printed my first 13×19 inch borderless photo last night and I am amazed at the quality of the prints that this thing can produce.

I promise to post some new images next week.
